Biggest-ever BANG from HSV ready to rumble
Today HSV announced it’s send-off Zeta platform model range as it prepares to enter a new era of warming-over European sourced Insigniadores. And they’re making sure we all remember what potential the rear-drive Aussie Commodore was capable of with the relaunch of the GTSR – a badge first seen on the back of the ’96 VS HSV. Available as a Maloo ute for $117,490 or sedan at $130,990 these cars push out 435kW from their supercharged LSA Gen IV motors.
Not enough for you? Ok – then it’s the range-topping GTSR W1 you’ll be wanting. Plopping a 2.3-litre supercharger atop forged aluminium pistons, dry sump and carbon-fibre airbox releases 474kW and 815Nm from this LS9-engined brute. Naturally there’s a bunch of transmission, suspension, braking and interior / exterior decor enhancements included in the package too, as befits a car costing (gulp) $189,990. Only 300 will be made in total and NZ buyers must form a not-so-orderly queue at their HSV dealer to get one of the 20 allocated for Kiwis.
